Glass & Frames
Numerous types of glass are stocked including plain annealed, laminated safety glass, horticultural, cast, wired and patterned glass with various degrees of obscurity. Thus, many customer requirements can be cut at short notice from existing stocks. Similarly, mirrors and a host of glazing supplies ranging from sealants, glazing compounds and tapes through to specialist clips are immediately available.
Other requirements e.g. toughened glass and process works such as drilled holes, finger pulls and polished edges are procured for customers from specialist suppliers. Glass technology is advancing rapidly. For specialist applications, customers may request information on glazing films, fire retardant glass, low-E glass and glass with solar control and self-cleaning properties.
Frames are supplied to both trade and retail customers to the same high specifications as those used by Furness Glass in their own installations. This takes advantage of the improved energy rating achieved by various frame/glazing unit combinations.
